Weekend Snapshots

Don’t Saturday and Sunday feel so far away already? Monday has a mysterious effect, capable of crushing our spirit. (See? That’s the Monday effect. It makes us overly dramatic...) That being said, my weekend was absolutely lovely, filled with great activities such as brunch with MC, a hint of shopping, some blogging, fun dinners with friends, and possibly a little wine.

Here are a few snapshots:

1. New purchases: More stripes, H&M pizzazz & Marie Claire’s September issue (P.S. I’m feeling a little sad about Miley’s new hair-chop...) / 2. Beets! Hubs and I cooked yellow beets for the first time. Delish! / 3. Simple Sunday breakfast / 4. Spring cleaning... A few precious souvenirs were stored under a lovely glass dome / 5. Beets again. But this time as a salad! Seriously: how pretty are they? / 6. Street art at the corner of Rachel and St-Denis.

I’d love to hear what you were up to this weekend!

Movie Date & Brunch at Accords

This weekend was quite busy with work. But don’t worry: I had time for dinner and a movie with Hubby. (We saw sci-fi movie Prometheus... man, am I a good wife!) I also indulged in some shopping (yay, new flowered pants from Zara’s), spent some quiet time reading and of course, enjoyed my classic brunch-date with MC (for which I dressed up in my new pants, and Isabelle May bracelets).

This weekend, MC and I followed Zurbaines’ suggestion and reserved at Accords, one of Old Montreal’s new hip restaurants. First and foremost, let me tell you that both the terrace and the latte were to die for. Heaven! As you can see, the presentation of the food was exquisite. But would I recommend it for brunch? Well... not if you like traditional eggs and potatoes. My strawberry French toast with basil sorbet was certainly impressive, but I guess my tastes for brunch are a bit more primitive. That being said, I will definitely be going back to try Accords, but next time I’ll reserve for supper. After all, their claim to fame is their impressive wine cellar; and from what I saw, it’s a definite must-try! Hope you had a happy weekend!

Weekend Uniform & Stikki Peaches

I am a creature of habit. Since Hubby is often hard at work on the weekend, MC and I have begun a tradition of brunching on Saturdays. We have our routine: MC chooses an up and coming restaurant and after, we walk around the city. With time, we have come to realized that we both have a "weekend uniform." Hers involves several layers, always a gorgeous scarf, an oversized carry bag and recently, her favourite Orange Flip lipstick. Mine is the following:

A striped top; this one is H&M / I am obsessed with this H&M necklace. I can’t believe I hesitated to purchase it / A pair of Ralph Lauren sunglasses / Dark skinny Miss Sixty jeans / My favourite floral scarf found at Zara’s / Smashbox’s Melondrama lipstick (last seen here) / Essie’s new colour Action / A pair of Michael Kors flats (because I’m cool but I also enjoy being comfortable) / A great purse. This one is Michael Kors’ Bedford textured-leather tote.

Last weekend, we brunched at Le Pourvoyeur, and I swear to you, they have the best latte I have ever tasted. We then walked through Montreal’s Little Italy, hunting for wheat paste graffiti by the anonymous street artist Stikki Peaches. Here are a few pics:

Word on the street is Station 16 will soon be working with Stikki Peaches to create a limited edition print – so stay tuned!
