Fall Cleaning & Thanksgiving

Today was a gloriously productive day! I went through all my unsorted papers (I’m not proud to say some dated back five years), broke our shredder (that was not the *glorious* part), cleaned the bedroom (because honestly, how many knickknacks does a girl need?), cleaned the kitchen cabinets and cooked those recipes a mere-mortal never has time to cook: scalloped potatoes and stew. I’m on a roll and feeling quite proud with myself!

Fall food is so gorgeous! Check out the following recipes: Sweet Spiced Pumpkin Soup, Crispy Baked Parmesan Green Bean Fries & Nutcrackle, a chewy Nutella cookie. If you like these images, be sure to follow me on Pinterest!

Today is also Canadian Thanksgiving – which is why I have a day off to brag about how productive I am. Saturday and Sunday were spent visiting Hubby and I’s families in Quebec City. I say YAY to good wine, good turkey and relaxing family time. On a day like this, I can’t help but write up a short list of all the things I am thankful for… starting with my loving husband who makes me laugh like no other, my family who goes out of its way to support and encourage my every dream, my friends because they are unbelievably awesome… but then, I’m also thankful for living in a beautiful and peaceful country, for having a roof over my head, having the chance/time/money to visit my family regularly, for being healthy, for working in a field I am passionate about… all in all, I’m pretty darn thankful for this beautiful life! I hope your Monday was equally bright and happy!

Bright Summer Nails

My sister-in-law, Melanie, brought me the ULTIMATE hostess gift: nail polish! Now that’s a woman who knows me well! One of the shades was this gorgeous orange: Paisley Attention To Me. What do you think? Here are a few suggestions if, like me, you fell hard for this summer look:
Sephora by OPI: Paisley Attention To Me is an opaque tangerine orange / Dior’s Riveria is a bright orange coral / Westbourne Grove by Nails inc. is a bright neon orange with a hint of yellow / Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel in Marmalade is a bold coral.

Happy Father's Day!

This is a picture of my Dad and my Hubby, being foolish on our wedding day. I’m blessed to have parents who love my husband like a son.

Happy Father’s Day to the best dad ever! He is a mathematical genius with an intense passion for fractals (how many daughters can say THAT about their dad?). He is a world traveller and an avid reader. But what’s best about my Dad is that he drove me to school every day and let me choose the radio station. He listened to me sing along to all the teenybopper boys’ band without a single complaint. He reads every book I recommend, listens to every CD I gift him. He has a twinkle in his eye throughout my long-winded stories and laughs at my wordplays. We both think each other is pretty awesome. Love you Dad!  xox

Life According to my Pinterest

What a beautiful day! Don’t you just love the beginning of summer? This month, according to my Pinterest, I’ve been craving all shades of tropical blue. (Talking about blue, I wanted to give a shout out to fellow Montreal blogger, Danina, who rocked a bluey-minty outfit this week. Check it out by clicking HERE!)

Do you have any fun plans this weekend? Hubby and I are looking forward to spending some quality time with our baby niece. She arrived with her mom and dad last night. She’s just a-do-ra-ble! I’ll tell you all about it on Monday, I’m sure! Cheers, Emily xo

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to the very best mom. You are loving, hilarious and encouraging. You have taught me to smile with my teeth, be independent and express my love and gratitude to those who surround me. You have taught me about honesty, about having an open mind, about appreciating what I have and working hard for what I  want. Thanks for making me ME and thanks for being YOU! xox
