My Favourite Colour

Fashionistas worldwide are high-fiving their computer screens, proudly saying “I just knew plum would be a hot trend this fall.” I know, because I’m one of them. We think we are avant-garde, yet we predict the obvious... (SPOILER: I’m telling you NOW, in the fall of 2000-and-a-million, the trend will be... wait for it... jewel tones!) One trend that isn’t so obvious, and that crept up last year after a decade hiatus, is marigold. By far my favourite colour, this golden yellow is a shade to add to your wardrobe, home decor... and even dinner!

Currently Craving & No More Party Rocking

This baby needs to be mine. Tassels, trendy mustard yellow, classic shape: the new Coach satchel has my name all over it. For once, I hope Hubby doesn’t see this post as he’ll roll his eyes a million times, hands to his forehead, saying : “You. Don’t. Need. It.” Honestly, this is poor logic. We don’t need ice cream – but what’s life without it? And seeing how this purse would last much longer than any ice cream cone... one must conclude that it would make an excellent purchase! Who’s with me?

On a completely unrelated topic, I just found out that uncle/nephew duo Redfoo and Sky Blu from LMFAO are breaking up... It’s a sad day for the party world! How will the Zubaz trend survive?

Yellow 1957 / 2012

Show me some good art and some cute clothes, and I’m a happy girl. I couldn’t resist this combination:  Yves Klein’s Monochrome jaune sans titre (M 8), from 1957 and this cheetah top and yellow skirt... circa 2012!

Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow

The mild temperature has encouraged me to go through my wardrobe and bring back some much needed colour. Seeing the great red, yellow and blue items that I had stored over the winter, I got to thinking that if I added a little white, I could be a Mondrian painting!  Sure, Yves Saint-Laurent and many others like DVF and Kate Spade have used Mondrian’s bold graphic imagery for their clothing lines in the past, but these suggestions are a little more subtle!

1. Jimmy Choo Gladis lace-up sandals / 2. Emilio Pucci blazer / 3. H&M Little White Tee / 4. Minnie pants from JCrew / 5. My new Kate Spade Melinda Flicker bag: I’m in love! / 5. Pied à Terre skirt / 7. Vintage Chanel / 8. Toywatch / 9. Patent leather belt by JCrew / 10. Givenchy Shopper in blue
